Archery — Its a Great Place For Everyone

Once you are old enough to pull a bow you are welcome in the sport. It is a sport that you can enjoy for your entire life. There is no age limit for people who want to compete. This is a sport that is perfect for boys and girls, and the whole family. The only thing that you need is the strength to pull a bow string back. There are training bows that are easy to pull and as your skills improve you can move to a heavier bow.

You don’t have to be large. You don’t have to have brute force. You don’t have to be anything other than who you are. Some of the most successful archers are small framed, skinny girls. Just look at most of the world’s female archery Olympians. In fact, think back to the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul Korea and you might remember Denise Parker, age 14, who came home with a Bronze medal in archery.

Archery Is All About You

While archery is a sport where you can compete with others in shooting competitions, the real competition is between you and yourself. This is a sport that teaches you life lessons like working hard, believing in yourself, and that you are in charge of your own success.

Perhaps one of the best parts of archery is that this is a community that is very open. People help others succeed. There is camaraderie and a sense of belonging. Expect that the old pros will teach you their tricks and that when you first start out that others will help you succeed. That is what archery is – a place to succeed.
